We do our best, but like everyone, we sometimes make mistakes. Just not often. Adventure travel is not for everyone. Just most people :) ”

Words cannot describe how much I loved this trip. The places I went, as well as the people I met... most of all my guide. My guide was the most caring, knowledgable, inspirational man I've met in a long time. He was amazing, and am proud to call him my friend after this once in a lifetime trip. The perfect trip. I can't say enough of my pleasure... and words cannot describe how the trip has changed my life. Thank you to everyone involved.

The Winter Rimu trip was the trip of a lifetime. The itinerary was well thought out, the hikes were fun and gorgeous, the bus was comfortable, the food was scrumptious, the accommodations had a lot of character, and most of all the guides were terrific! Our guides (Ken and Jaclyn) were fun, knowledgeable, outgoing, cheerful, and created an adventuristic atmosphere throughout the whole trip, which made this an AWESOME trip instead of a good trip.

The guides were like family by the end of the trip. The night the trip was over, the three people still in Christchurch met up for dinner at a cafe. It felt like we had been friends for years, and going to this cafe was our weekly ritual. That sense of friendship and hospitality wouldn't have been created without Active. Thank you so much.

This was a totally awesome trip. Both guides were fantastic in different ways. Ken our lead guide was very knowledgeable about the country, geography, flora and fauna and kept us well informed about the upcoming events. Gwyneth made sure we were well fed and rested. She did an amazing job on the overnight backpacks. I am an avid hiker and backpacker and was impressed with the gourmet meals and preparation that went on. We even had real silverware at meals. This is unheard of in the backpackers' world.

Take a country with breathtaking beauty, add itineraries designed to show you some of the best parts of it and finish with guides that are professional, knowledgeable and first and last fun and you end up with the trip of a lifetime. I can't recommend it enough. Go do this already.

Fantastic experience, I felt alive, rejuvenated. All accommodations were excellent, I especially liked the remoteness of most of them. Ken was the greatest, he was always very enthusiastic and was very patient. I felt I had a personal guide. Awesome, the trip of a lifetime!

The highlight of the trip were the activities... one great adventure after other. Brendan was prefect. Yes, I had an awesome trip. He's very knowledgeable, which is a comfort to a novice and handled difficult people to insure others were not impacted. Alice was also perfect. Her ability to throw an excellent meal together under any circumstance was remarkable. I've never seen as many rainbows in my life as I did in my one week in New Zealand...thanks!

The folks at Active NZ clearly have a love for their land, and rightly so. NZ was awesome, and Active NZ made sure we saw it from so many different perspectives. The balance of activities and destinations was spot on. We really couldn't have asked for anything better.

A really spectacular country, made better by ACTIVE!! We got to see and
learn so much about New Zealand in just two weeks! People I spoke to
after the trip were impressed with how much I had seen and the exclusive
places I had been too - they were very jealous and so they should be
too!! Highly recommend the trip as your guides will ensure you will see
and do as much as possible, everything is organised and taken care of
for you. All you have to worry about is making sure you make the most of
it and have a good time. Lots of people to meet and get to know really
well. Extremely happy I decided to travel with ACTIVE. Book your trip
now or you will regret it!!

I have never taken a guided trip in the past, but if I do again, Active New Zealand would be a first choice. The Winter Rimu packed as much New Zealand culture, history, scenery, and adventure as one could wish for in 2 weeks time.

This was my first true hiking experience, I don't know if another hike could ever top what I saw with the ACTIVE team and the landscape we crossed. With great guides, amazing accommodations, and wonderful hikes, this trip was better than I could have ever imagined!
