"Fantastic!! Every aspect was perfect. I have always wanted to go to New Zealand because everyone who has been there has said what a wonderful country it is and how warm and friendly New Zealanders are. It's the most beautiful country I have every been to. Our Tui trip exceeded our expectations. "

Ben Laffan
"That Bogan? Ben rocks, really he's made for this job. He literally enthralled the entire group with his wit and extensive knowledge about New Zealand. Ben's got an easy way with people and made sure everyone felt like a friend not a client! Great sense of humour, everyone loved taking the piss out of him and he played along with it. Everyone felt like one big family and here's dad driving the bus! As much fun and joking around we had, I also thought Ben was very professional. There was one lady who had come into Nelson lakes and decided she wouldn't be doing the entire hike. So Ben had to run out to contact someone over the cell phone to get within range. And he didn't make it by night fall, had to go out and do it over in the morning, and he wasn't at all put off by doing this - I mean he totally took care of Lydia, made sure she was comfortable, and feeling good, and made it feel like it was no big deal at all. I think that's great, I personally would have had a fit, to have to go and backtrack like that, but he was great about it. Handled it with respect and professionalism. I think the group with us in Nelson Lakes got a real good sense of Ben's leadership abilities right there. All in all, Ben was super guide and I couldn't imagine anyone doing a better job!"

Adrenaline Activities

New Zealand is home to all sorts of heart pumping adventure activities. All of our South Island trips include a free day in Queenstown, known as the adrenaline and adventure travel capital of the world!

We are familiar with all the options available to you, and can set you up with activities from a variety of local operators.

The options are seemingly endless and include tandem skydiving or paragliding, a descent into a caving system, canyoning, zip lining, canyon swinging, adventure jet boat rides, stunt planes and of course that infamous New Zealand invention, the bungy jump. Those who don’t mind getting a little wet are also well catered for with a range of white water river rafting, sledging, kayaking and surfing.

These commercial activities are not generally included in your trip fare, but we know where to get the best deals, and we'll make it happen for you.

To find out more about the adventure travel options available in both Queenstown and around New Zealand checkout the sights and activities section of the pure new Zealand web site by clicking here.

Bungy Jumping

'Bungy', the word that quickens the pulse and stirs the imagination, refers to the challenge and excitement of throwing yourself off a bridge or platform high above the ground with your legs attached by a single rubber band.

For jumpers the challenge is to overcome their fears and be able to say, "Yeah, I did it!" Bungy jumping gives a person the opportunity to overcome their inner fears and gives them a massive dose of adrenaline.

During the 1980's, A.J. Hackett developed a safe, standard method of jumping so people could have lots of fun, but feel totally safe. After a number of test jumps (including the Eiffel Tower), A.J. introduced bungy jumping to New Zealand and now the company operates throughout the world.

Climb, swim and float through a spectacular world of water sculpted rock and sparkling, crashing waterfalls. Canyoning (canyoneering in the U.S.) involves travelling down creeks or streams within a canyon by a variety of means - walking, scrambling, climbing, abseiling and swimming. Canyoning is an all weather activity.

Jet Boating

The Jet Boat was invented in the South Island of New Zealand in 1954 by Sir William Hamilton as a means of travel up our many wild shallow rivers. There are now a number of companies offering a range of jet boat rides around the Queenstown area, these wild adventure rides are a must for the outdoor or wilderness enthusiast. Shotover Jet offers an exhilarating ride through the canyons of the Shotover river and the Dart river safaris offer a longer day trip into the Aspiring National Park.
