"Choosing ACTIVE NEW ZEALAND to guide me around the South Island was the best decision I made when planning my New Zealand vacation. Our guides were full of energy and knowledge, and in general great people to hang out with for 2 weeks! I did such a small amount of research into the country before my visit, so I was at their mercy, and I certainly was not disappointed!"

Bio:
A Kiwi farm kid from way back, I know more about sheep than I'd like to admit, I love having wide open spaces to roam and explore, and I'll try anything once. Like most Kiwis, I'm proud of what we have down here -- the people, the land and the sea. I have a bachelors degree in Physical Education: Sport and Exercise Science, which has allowed me to do guiding in the summer and snowboard instructing during the winter. So I'm lucky enough to play in the great outdoors of New Zealand all year round! I fully love seeing others immerse themselves in all that New Zealand has to offer, it's awesome as!

What our clients have said:

"Elle can cook up a storm in no time, making it look easy, catering to everyone's needs and providing loads of variety without any fuss. Her mum's recipe for chocolate cake was a winner for sure, which was a personal gesture appreciated by all. Meals were always of a high standard and plentiful. Elle added another dimension when sharing her knowledge of NZ, like using the palm pods for toboggans and recommending Ferburgers. I will always appreciate her support on the bike ride and the hike at Mt Cook. Elle has a great sense of fun and is a delightful young lady. "

"Awesome cook, great guide. She was very bubbly, sweet and fun!! Even though she caught a little bug that was floating around the participants at the end of the trip, she still managed a smile and a story or two!!"

"Loved her! Wanted to take her home! :)"

"Elle was a fantastic cook!! Elle was calm and easy going, a great person and guide. On the first night, she set us up in a great room because we were on our honeymoon. I appreciated that she recognized this! She is an amazing chef and spoiled us with great food. She worked so hard all the time!"

"Phenomenal, full of energy and incredibly organized for all the meals and lodging. Super job in the kitchen (with a little help from mum) and all our lodging was ready and waiting. She was a fantastic nurse when Bela hurt her toe and then her knee, just a fantastic person. The country and activities are great, but both Dan and Elle made this my best vacation ever. Not only did they create a great atmosphere, they truly cared for us. After 18 hour days for the first week, they spent their entire day off in Queenstown scheduling an emergency flight back to the States for our friends so they coiuld get to a dying relative's bedside. We can't thank them enough for giving up well-earned free time."

"Elle is awesome! She has a very fun personality and did a great job with the cooking and other arrangements. She was very patient and accomodating, and she had some pretty hefty challenges with some of the dietary requirements of trip participants. Easy to talk to and fun to be around."

"Elle did an awesome job feeding us and made a real effort to learn what the trip members wanted and/or needed. Her enthusiasm for the job was off the charts - she really seemed to enjoy it. I found that Elle was good about answering my questions, whether it was about the fauna, religion, politics - whatever the topic was I inquired about. I am diabetic and [our guides] were great about arranging freezer time each night so I could keep my insulin chilled during the day. Both were willing to learn how to administer my glucagon emergency kit, in the event of a severe low blood glucose episode, which fortunately never happened. Their willingness to help me with these issues really helped eased some concerns I had about taking the trip. I felt they took very good care of me. "

"Elle was our caretaker and so sweet, we all fell in love with her. She was very patient (we took a lot of pictures, which was important to us, and she never complained or made us feel rushed). I was sick and she always checked on me and brought lemon and honey to my room and is genuinely a sweetheart. She wouldn't let us help her clean and she worked tirelessly with a smile the whole time. She is a gem."

"AWESOME... can I say more. Elle did not feel like a guide for us, she became a friend to a lot of us. I can't begin to express how much gratitude I have towards Tim and Elle, and how wonderful they were during our entire excursion. One could not ask for a better pair to accompany a group around your exquisite country. They were such a big part of making this trip unforgettable. Thank you!!!!"
