"The trip was amazingly well-organized, outdoor oriented, and an awesome adventure. Being cared for so well let us relax in general with "no worries". We were so glad to have gotten off the beaten track."

"What can I say, she was like Mom for two weeks. She was always enthusiastic, did a nice job with the meals, and even sent us off mountain biking with individually tailored snack bags:) Be sure to tell her how much we LOVED the Apple Crumble."

Name:  Heather Vincent
Position:  Co-Guide/Cook
Bio:
Before becoming a guide, Heather worked in the film industry tracking down props as well as catering on location for commercials and feature films throughout New Zealand. Whipping up gourmet meals for a hungry crowd in the middle of nowhere, including Scott Base in Antarctica, no worries! On a day off, you'll find her on the golf course (she's captain of the Glenorchy Golf Club), gardening, watching the rugby or working on a crafts project.

What our clients have said:

-- Shaine Mcdonald (Gainesville, Florida, USA) February 2010 Manuka

"Heather did a great job in entertaining the group during the longer drives. She also took initiative in preparing the food. She didn't just make simple and basic meals but always had something tasty and unique being prepared for us. She could always make us laugh."
-- Jeff Pfeiffer (Virginia, USA) December 2009 Tui

"Heather was a great co-guide and wonderful chef for us. On a couple of occasions my 14 year old was challenged getting herself ready on time for an early departure and Heather, very competently yet very patiently, was able to motivate her to finish her preparations, relievng me of further stress!"
-- Louise Russell (New South Wales, Australia) December 2009 Tui

"Heather and [lead guide] Rowan worked very well as a team. Loved her personality, her flexibility, and her very "New Zealandness". "
-- Cathy Larson (California, USA) November 2009 Manuka

"Fabulous -- very smart and quick. She really "got" everyone. Very astute and observant. Knew all the great places to go and activities to do. Arranged massages, and was an excellent cook. She also made a very special arrangement for my husband and me to have a romantic dinner in Queenstown, as it was our wedding anniversary on our free day there. She really made the trip special. If she lived closer I know we could be fabulous friends. I adore "H"."
-- Valerie Rekward (Kalaheo, Hawaii) November 2008 Rimu

"Heather did an excellent job of keeping things interesting and feeding us. She was a good complement to (our lead guide) Tim. Funny as hell."
-- Charles Kevin Terry (New Jersey, USA) November 2008 Rimu

"I think I just got lucky to have Heather as one of our guides. She was organized, entertaining, fun, eager, full of knowledge, adaptable, funny, and kept us laughing with historical tidbits through the entire trip. She had injured her knee on the Nelson Lakes hike and still showed a great positive attitude and always put us first regardless of how she was feeling. WAY TO GO H!!!!!! She should be commended for that."
-- Lisa Babiuk (British Columbia, Canada) November 2008 Rimu

"I have nothing but good things to say about Heather. H was the entertainer of the group. She kept everyone involved and in great spirits."
-- William "Billy" Walker (Maryland, USA) November 2008 Rimu

"H was great. I cannot believe it was her first trip. She was like a gourmet chef."
-- Donna Kearns (New South Wales, Australia) October 2008 Rimu

"I can't believe this was Heather's first ACTIVE trip. She was awesome. She has so much experience from her previous careers as a firefighter, working in Antarctica, working in the film industry. Plus, she's a great cook. Definitely do everything you can to keep her on board at ACTIVE."
-- Albert Hwang (California, USA) October 2008 Rimu
