"Loved it. Great itinerary and great people. I like the small nature of the company, the guides were first rate, and it was great driving around in a smaller bus that did not have a huge logo on the side. Felt less like a tourist and more like a traveler. We got to see and do SO MUCH, if I had gone on my own in the same amount of time, I'd have never pulled it off so well. "

Bio:
I'm an all-rounder and will give anything a go. I love playing and watching sports and currently do a lot of running and mountain biking. I’m also a music buff -- even in this age of digital music, I still believe in buying CDs, especially of New Zealand music. Originally from Dunedin, I have a Bachelor's of Commerce and spent 3 years on the Southern Region Hockey team followed by a couple of years driving ski buses in Colorado before joining ACTIVE in 2008.
What our clients have said:

"Tim is a wonderful guide and a great leader. He made sure that everything went smooth and on schedule. I enjoyed talking to him. "
-- Katy Ghiasi (New Brighton, Minnesota, United States) April 2011 Rimu

"Tim was AWESOME! Always organized, anticipatory, open to our many questions, great attitude and fun, with very helpful and timely guidance. He did a great job. "
-- Jennifer Chang (San Francisco, California, United States) February 2011 Tui

"Tim was excellent. He had great taste in music (exposed me to some new bands) as well as cooked some very tasty meals. Tim was highly organized and always kept the team on track. In particular, Tim kept me going those last few miles to Welcome Flat Hut, and always had a smile on his face (even when I was struggling to keep going). Thanks Tim!!"
-- Rob Howe (Tumwater, Washington, United States) September 2010 Winter Rimu

"Tim was wonderful and made the trip fun. He has a great sense of humor and adventure and I especially appreciated that for my son, Dade, who really enjoyed Tim's company. He made it an "awesome" trip, and this one will be hard to beat!!"
-- Bar Cocherell (Dahlonega, Georgia, USA) February 2010 Rimu

"You can tell that he is an experienced guide. After only a couple of days, he was good at "reading" clients' abilities and what they are capable of. He worked hard at allowing those who wanted more miles that option and coordinating the pickup of those who wanted to sag the climbs or wanted shorter miles. He and Lucas worked well together as a team especially when describing that days route so that clients could pick and choose their ride options... They obviously have more patience than I do !"
-- Judi Wright (Ardmore, Oklahoma, USA January 2010 Weka Cycling

"If all your guides are as good as Tim and Robyn then your company has the best in the world. Not only did they take care of us from morning 'til night, but as a team they performed awesomely! I'd give then both "9s" on your 7-point scale."
-- Terry Riley (Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA) December 2009 Rimu

"We really enjoyed Tim - clever sense of humor, good natured, kept us on track without feeling "herded". Was responsive to requests, quick to anticipate our needs - just great in every way."
-- Criss Bardill (Yakima, Washington, USA) November 2009 Rimu

"Our guide Tim Stewart was the best! He was amazingly gracious and informative. We all loved him and raved about him afterwards. I would and will take another Active NZ trip, and will hope Tim will be my guide."
-- Donna Brooks (Los Osos, California, USA) October 2009 Tui

"Tim has a great sense of humor. He takes his responsibilities very seriously, while helping to provide an atmosphere that encourages people to enjoy themselves. He was informative regarding historical and cultural information. He maintained a good balance between friendly and professional. He and Simon worked very well together. Both were very supportive to individuals struggling with different parts of the trip."
-- Ellyn Schreiber (New Hampshire, USA) February 2009 Rimu

"Tim was great. You can really tell that he wants to be the best he can at his job. I love that he introduced us to so much New Zealand music, and I can honestly say that I hiked harder then I ever have because I just tried to stay on his heels the whole time, which was great. I love being pushed out of my comfort zone. He's also just a cool guy and it was great to get to know him on some of our down time"
-- Rachel Schein (Nevada, USA) January 2009 Rimu

"Tim was amazing to hike and climb all day and then safely drive us to our next stop. He communicated well; providing all necessary info for present and upcoming activities. He was great to talk to about NZ cultural and political issues (past and current events). He would describe areas points of interest that we drove through. He really made it possible to get to know New Zealand. We enjoyed him bringing local flavour to us, from the music that he played to teaching us Kiwi phrases."
-- Barbara Fox-Kilgore (Washington, USA) January 2009 Rimu

"Tim did an incredible job. It was a treat and a delight to have a kiwi as one of our guides. He introduced us to great kiwi music and culture, drove well (despite the winding roads!), and had a great sense of humor. All that, and he really enjoyed talking about other things in life, like politics, philosophy and more. And of course, kiwi beer. Notably, there was a person in the group who required additional attention during the trip and he did an excellent job of giving her the extra she needed while not compromising the rest of us."
-- Noah & Shara Philip (Rhode Island, USA) January 2009 Rimu

"He was awesome! Very knowledgeable and a strong hiker. Made me work hard to keep up with him -- loved it!!"
-- Jennifer Lippmann (Nevada, USA) January 2009 Rimu

"Tim was absolutely the best. He cared about each and every one of us and did everything in his power to ensure that we had the trip of a lifetime. He was they key in keeping everyone informed and on the same page. It was very easy to be around him. Thanks loads Tim!"
-- Valerie Rekward (Hawaii, USA) November 2008 Rimu

"Tim was a star. He made it feel more like you were being shown around by a friend who lived there rather than a stuffy tour. He took care of business, but was genuine, rather than it seeming like he was just doing a job."
-- Scott Jorgensen (Minnesota, USA) November 2008 Rimu

"I think I just got lucky to have Tim as one of our guides. He was organized, entertaining, fun, eager, full of knowledge, adaptable, funny, kept us in good tunes on those long bus rides and made sure we were all having a good time, even when he was not officially working. "
-- Melissa Babiuk (Vancouver, Canada) November 2008 Rimu

"Tim was lovely. He has a great singing voice... jamming to tunes in the bus. Very good driver, as I saw first hand since I sat next to him the entire trip. Answered all of our questions and was complete with evening agendas."
-- Lesley Stopay (Ontario, Canada) November 2008 Tui
