Very clear highlights and lowlights. One hike and the Going-to-the-Sun bike ride were amazing. The guides made the best of a challenged situation around COVID / food, but overall not as great as our previous trip with Austin

We absolutely LOVED our Yellowstone trip with David, Kathy, and Steve. They were amazing guides and really went out of their way to make my entire family feel special during our trip. From the little things like surprise snacks after each outing, supporting our (then) 5 year old on our hikes, entertaining the kids, to making the adults feel heard, they were going non-stop and made our trip just perfect. We didn't want to leave them, and we all missed their positive energy on the next leg of our journey. We'll definitely be back to Austin Adventures and hope to see them again on the next trip!

The trip was well planned and went very smoothly. The only setback was the booking agent told my daughter that the younger children could be pulled by the guides for the biking portion of the trip and that was not the case. She and I trailed the two, except when our guide was given permission to pull one of them when we were on a bike trail as opposed to the road. I was able to do it, but at 77+ it was not what I was expecting to have to do. I think it imperative that the people on the sales desk know what is and isn't possible so your clients are not mislead, not only about this particular incident, but about any possible questions that may arise.

Over the past 30 years, we have used several adventure travel companies. Austin always comes out at the top, and has become the family, literally and figuratively, that we return to and rely on for excellence and adventure..

Glacier NP was amazing - we're so glad that we decided to visit! The views and scenery were spectacular and biking the Going-to-the-Sun road was definitely the highlight of the trip for us. The lodging and food situation was difficult. While we appreciated staying at historic lodges in the park, the lack of A/C and thin walls meant that we slept poorly during several nights of the trip. I know that lodging in the parks is limited and there wasn't anything Austin Adventures could have done about that, but it still was challenging. The food situation was also disappointing. National Park food is always mediocre at best (and we knew this going into the trip), but having a limited menu and only takeout due to COVID made it much worse. For the two nights that we stayed in Many Glacier Valley we had to wait 45-60 min. in line just to get our fairly disgusting takeout from the lodge restaurant and then wrangle with other people to try and find a place to sit. We know this was due to COVID and staffing shortages, but it really detracted from the trip experience. However, our dinners at the Belton Inn in West Glacier and Tupelo in Whitefish were very good.
Our last Austin Adventures trip to Croatia was absolutely amazing in every way (guides, food, lodging). When compared to that trip, the Gla

Our trip to the Galapagos islands was so welcoming after not traveling for a year and a half because of covid. We felt really safe and had an amazing time.
