This trip was brilliant. Admittedly the fantastic weather we encountered made it even more beautiful, but weather can't replace great people. The whole group was great and entertaining, but the Active Adventures guides Ellie and Elder made it very special. Nothing was too much trouble, their cooking was outstanding and general hospitality skills marvellous. They are a credit to the company and themselves.

From start to finish the trip was awesome. We went to Snow Canyon, saw the erosion and the limestone structures, then to Red Rock. We went to see the hoodoos at Bryce Canyon and we hiked amongst them seeing the Majesty of what mother nature can do. We hiked up Wall Street which really challenged my hiking skills, then we went to Zion, which was spectacular with the rugged cliffs and mountains all around you. Hiking up to the top of Angel's Landing with a spectacular view was awesome. We hiked The Narrows through the Virgin River which was a beautiful experience. I'm looking to book my next trip through Active Adventures. The guides were awesome, they couldn't be more professional, they took care of every little detail from meals to water on the hikes to making sure everyone was comfortable, to the accommodations. How the guides kept such a great attitude all the time I have no clue, but they sure do!

Impressed with oversight of guides, when husband got too warm one stayed with us cooled him and met him with Gatorade. I like the fluids provided after each hike or bike ride. Accommodations were excellent. Meals were excellent.
I lost black arm sleeve and new biking gloves, thought they might be with helmets. I have messaged Matthew D.

The trip was amazing! I had a blast and loved the hiking. I wish there was a little more biking for the amount of times that the guys had to bring down the bikes. I felt bad for them. That is why I gave it an 8 out of 10 instead of a 10/10.

This was my first real hiking trip. Austin Adventures came highly recommended by a work associate. It was simply beautiful. Steve and Matthew were awesome and knowledgeable about the formations and plant life and did anything they could to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. I had a little emotional breakdown before trying to climb to Angel's Landing in Zion. Matthew quickly took charge and reassured me. Another hiker had fatigued quads and was challenged descending. He was extremely good at noting who was being challenged with different parts of the hike and kept them close to him providing minute by minute instruction. I honestly don't think he would encourage anyone to do a hike that was above their ability but wouldn't make them feel bad if they chose not to participate. I had borrowed a pair of hiking pants that were slightly too big and had forgot a belt. Steve came to the rescue with a bungee cord that worked beautifully for the day! The next day he showed up with a belt even in case I wore the pants again! They were also on time, made sure we stayed hydrated, and fulfilled needs before we were aware of them. The only thing that surprised me was the amount of talking and the noise of the walking sticks. I pictured serene hikes where I could think and enjoy nature.

I just returned from spending 8 days in Galapagos, and the trip far exceeded my expectations, high anyway thanks to my trip 3 years ago with Active Adventures to New Zealand. These islands truly are enchanted, and if you long to go somewhere truly unique and to disconnect from the normal rhythms of your life at home, this is the place to go. Stunning scenery, wildlife so tame you can converse with them up close and personal, fabulous food and comfortable hotels located at just the right places, and a guide (Pablo), to whom I am forever in his debt. His infectious enthusiasm about this magical place and its inhabitants, his gift for conveying a wealth of knowledge so that even I understood, his awareness of the needs and wants of each fellow traveler, and his smile. More than once I found my eyes welling up with tears with gratitude for being in this spot on the globe and being with him.
