Beyond expectations! A trip for a lifetime! The bicycling, cultural and epicurean experiences far exceeded the itinerary. The guides, Tom and Peter, were equally outstanding as they were our ambassadors to this life changing experience; their personable characters, genuine and authentic demeanors, knowledge based on all platforms, and gentle persona enhanced the overall encounters on this journey. The entire experience was a fulfillment.

Fantastic way to experience the smaller cities, towns and landscape of the Netherlands. While the scenery is lovely, the outstanding part of the trip is the experienced, dedicated, knowledgeable and hard-working guides. Peter and Thomas are a great pair and clearly love their country and their long time occupations as guides. My first but not my last trip with Active Adventures!

This was a great trip! Our guide, Gustavo, was tremendous and we really enjoyed the company of our fellow travelers. When the weather was favorable - views were truly spectacular. Unfortunately we did have several days of heavy rain and winds. Actually, the last day was snowing. Not quite what we expected in February - but that was our mistake. One hotel in El Chalten was not up to par - but otherwise they were all absolutely fine. We also had great guides leading our hikes. Would definitely consider another trip with Active Adventures.

I grew up with the Rocky Mountains in Colorado as my backyard, but learned early on that every mountain is, well, different. Not only are those that comprise the Torres del Paine and the Fitz Roy Massif different, there really is nothing like them in the Rockies, or anywhere else for that matter. Seeing them in photographs as I have for years bears no comparison to seeing and walking through the environments of the southern Andes that are unlike anywhere else on earth.

I highly recommend Camilo Sousa as a main guide for a Camino de Santiago trip--he is the most passionate, funny, knowledgable and kind guide I could've hoped for. The secondary guide Sagra also was excellent. We are so grateful for all they did for us to make a memorable, special experience.

We had both, but the guide was the difference maker, especially because after doing a face plant on a rocky trail, I needed his first aid expertise as well as his care and understanding. Happily he was able to patch me up well enough that I could walk the several miles back to the road where the driver took me to the hospital. Not what you hope for on a trip like this, but a good lesson on why traveling with a well trained professional guide makes the difference. I was able to join the rest of the group two days later and no one else’s trip was adversely affected. A win for all concerned and the source of a great story now that I am back home.

Truly enjoyable hike through highlights of the Camino with passionate stories (and some facts!) from our amazing guide Camilo. As always, Active Adventures combines continuity of trip leader with local guides in nearly every stop. These people are passionate about their place and deeply authentic in sharing their knowledge. The hiking is balanced and mostly flat with incredible vistas. We left in awe of the history of northern Spain and grateful to have experienced it with a great group!
