Overall we had a wonderful experience and were able to see unique parts of the South Island we would never have had time to drive to on our own. By taking us, in the van, to different outstanding locations we were ready to then hike or bike that particular area. The van was loaded with fruit, snacks and water and during our time aboard we were able to question both our driver and guide (both of whom were outstanding!) about the local culture and geography. The accommodations were excellent and the food fabulous.

The trip was excellent with talented and knowledgeable guides. The food was great throughout and the accommodations were nice. We cycled about 30 miles on most of the cycling days. The trails were scenic and the biking was mostly off road on loose gravel with a little bit of single track. New Zealand is a beautiful place and the effort that was put in by the guides really made this a trip to remember.

I never ride off road before this trip. I loved this trip combined leisure and challenges on each ride. After this trip, I gained great confidence on off road riding. Jess and Jac are the best guides of all of our trips. They truly cared about us and made sure we had a great adventure in NZ. And the love they showed for NZ and outdoor adventures lifestyle was infectious.

We had Mother Nature watching over us for 2 spectacular weeks in Patagonia and fortunate to see all the towering peaks and glaciers, many framed in blue skies! Gustavo was an outstanding tour leader and our local guides in both Chile and Argentina were equally superb. Beyond the visual rewards, we learned so much about the geology, hydrology, history, evolution, indigenous peoples and current residents that make Patagonia so interesting and special. Many trips "see" Patagonia but this journey was an opportunity to really "experience" Patagonia and the W hike was the highlight. We met hikers from around the world on the trail and at the refugios and our group really bonded in that shared living environment. We loved that the itinerary included some biking, kyaking, and boating time as well as the hiking/backpacking. Our hotels and meals were all terrific and well-organized and we felt safe and well-prepared for each day's adventure. We are very happy that we chose Active Adventures to guide us on this amazing trip!

Totally loved this trip. It was a great combination of tough backpacking for the first week and more relaxed day hikes on the second week so it was a great blend. The additional activities of the kayak, walking on the glacier and the bike ride were truly awesome. Guides were great, friendly and worked with us all as there were different levels of fitness on our team. The most surprising item for me was the food....both in the hostels and the Cafe's in town. Food in this part of the world is amazing and the choices of the guides were all excellent. Weather for us was not the best, but thats also a part of the adventure. Its a great part of the world to hike and the nature is amazing. I would highly recommend Active as your trek guides.
